Hyderabad, Mar 29 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday conducted a high-level review meeting on the development of major temples and Pushkar ghats along the Godavari river stretch from Basara to Bhadrachalam, in preparation for the Godavari Pushkaralu scheduled in June 2027.
Officials made detailed presentations outlining development plans for the ghats, temples, and associated infrastructure.
A PowerPoint presentation was used to brief the Chief Minister on works that must be completed before the Pushkaralu.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister instructed officials to constitute a technical committee of engineers to identify suitable locations for conducting Pushkar rituals.
The committee has been asked to conduct field visits and submit a report within 15–20 days.
Based on this report, an officials’ committee will prepare detailed estimates and forward them to a Cabinet sub-committee.
The final decision will be taken by the Cabinet after approval.
The Chief Minister emphasised that both permanent and temporary works should be prioritised and executed systematically to meet deadlines.
To ensure coordination among departments, he directed the establishment of a dedicated “war room” at Praja Bhavan for continuous monitoring of Pushkar preparations.
He also called for the expansion of ghats at major temples and tourist destinations to handle the expected influx of devotees.
Stressing the importance of connectivity, he instructed officials to ensure seamless road networks and transport links between key locations.
In addition, officials presented a master plan for the development and expansion of the Gnana Saraswati Temple Basara.
