Hyderabad, Mar 29 (TNT): The ‘Yuva Bharat Run 2026’, a large-scale youth fitness event, was held at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road gere on Sunday, drawing participation from over 10,000 students, families and young professionals.
Organised by Delhi Public School and Pallavi Schools, the event aimed to promote fitness, unity and healthy living among youth.
Supported by the Fit India initiative and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the run featured multiple categories, including a 5-km timed run, a 2-km family run and a 500-metre race for children.
The event was attended by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, State IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu, BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao and actor Sharwanand, who jointly flagged off the runs.
Addressing participants, Venkaiah Naidu stressed the importance of discipline, healthy living and cultural values in nation-building.
He urged youth to stay connected to their roots, respect parents and teachers, and adopt a balanced lifestyle with regular exercise and nutritious food.
He cautioned against excessive use of social media, describing it as distracting, and encouraged young people to focus on improving attention and mental well-being.
The event also featured Zumba and yoga sessions, meditation activities, play zones and entertainment programmes. A prize pool of ₹1 lakh was announced for winners in select categories.
Organisers said the event successfully combined fitness awareness with value-based messaging, encouraging youth to adopt a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.
