Iran Assures Continued Access to Hormuz Route for Indian Ships

New Delhi, Mar 27 (TNT): In a development that could ease maritime concerns, Iran has announced that Indian vessels will continue to have access to the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said that countries including India, China, Russia, Pakistan and Iraq are in coordination with Iran, ensuring uninterrupted passage.

However, Iran made it clear that ships belonging to “hostile nations” would not be permitted through the route, underlining ongoing geopolitical tensions in the region.

The move is seen as crucial for India’s energy security, given its dependence on crude oil shipments through the Hormuz corridor.
