AIC-IIITH, EPAM Select 6 GreenTech Startups for Social Impact Innovation Programme

Hyderabad, Mar 27(TNT): The AIC-IIITH Foundation, the Social-Tech Incubator of IIIT, Hyderabad, in partnership with EPAM Systems, a global leader in AI transformation engineering and integrated consulting, has selected six high-impact GreenTech startups for the fourth cohort of the Akash EPAM Social Impact Innovation Programme (ESIIP).

The selection followed a rigorous process in which 11 shortlisted applicants, from over 130 nationwide entries, pitched to a distinguished jury, the Institute said in a release here on Friday.

The chosen startups were recognised for their potential to advance India’s commitments under the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action).

The programme aims to bridge the gap between academic research and market-ready innovation by supporting startups working in areas such as green energy, circular economy and climate action.

Selected startups will receive a ₹5 lakh grant, access to research labs at IIIT Hyderabad, and validation support through the Smart City Lab Test Bed, along with mentorship and business coaching from industry experts.

Speaking on the initiative, AIC-IIITH Director Ramesh Loganathan said the fourth edition of the programme comes at a crucial time when demand for sustainable and technology-driven solutions is rising.

He noted that the platform enables startups to scale innovations addressing India’s environmental priorities.

The selected startups are working on advanced “Tech-for-Good” solutions, including autonomous rovers, digital twins, IoT-based systems, carbon capture technologies and cement-free construction materials, offering scalable climate solutions.

The evaluation was carried out by a multidisciplinary jury comprising 14 experts from organisations such as IIITH, Google, EPAM Systems, Corteva, Carrier, Sonoco India, United Way Hyderabad, Caspian, MuddleArt and Edventure Park, ensuring assessment across technical, financial and social impact parameters.

Srinivas Reddy, Senior Vice President and Head of EPAM India, said the company remains committed to fostering social impact innovation through collaboration and sustained action, supporting initiatives that deliver long-term value in addressing real-world challenges.
