telangana CM Reddy asks Siddipet Voters to Back Congress, End ‘Family Politic

Siddipet, Mar 22 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday appealed to voters in Siddipet to support the Congress and put an end to what he termed “family-run politics.”

Addressing a public meeting during a “Farmers Festival” held in connection with the inauguration of an oil palm project, the Chief Minister said the initiative was aimed at benefiting farmers and not any individual leader.

He assured that the leader who defeats the BRS candidate in the Siddipet Assembly constituency in the next elections would be inducted into the state Cabinet.

“I am entrusting Ministers G. Vivek and Damodar Rajanarsimha with the responsibility of ensuring the Congress candidate’s victory in the constituency,” he said.

Alleging that the constituency has long been represented by members of a single family, Revanth Reddy urged voters to bring change by giving others an opportunity.

He asserted that the government does not discriminate against anyone and said it was not his approach to favour particular individuals.

The Chief Minister also said he was ready for a debate on funds allocated to Kodangal during the previous BRS regime and expressed confidence that the Congress would retain power in the 2029 Assembly elections.
