BRS to Move Private Member Bill in Assembly on Congress ‘Six Guarantees’: KTR

Hyderabad, Mar 21 (TNT): BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao on Saturday said that its party  would introduce a Private Member Bill in the Telangana Legislature to ensure implementation of the Congress party’s six guarantees.

He said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had signed the relevant file on the first day of assuming office, and the assurances were reiterated in the Governor’s address during the joint session of the Assembly a week later.

Alleging lack of progress, KTR said that even after 800 days there had been no implementation of the guarantees, prompting the party to bring in the Bill to put pressure on the government.

He said the BRS would seek permission from the Speaker of the Assembly and the Chairman of the Legislative Council to introduce the Private Member Bill during the current session.

KTR added that if the Congress government was sincere about fulfilling its promises, it should allow the Bill to be taken up for discussion in the House.
