Hyderabad, Mar 20 (TNT):The Telangana government on Friday said it will implement a comprehensive three-phase master plan for the development of the Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple at Bhadrachalam, aiming to transform it into an international spiritual centre.
Ministers Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Konda Surekha, Tummala Nageswara Rao and Vakati Srihari said the Congress government, under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, is according top priority to the development of Bhadrachalam, popularly known as “Dakshina Ayodhya.”
The master plan was reviewed at a meeting held at the Secretariat in the office of Minister Konda Surekha.
The Ministers said the development works will be taken up in three phases, keeping in view long-term requirements for the next 200 years, in accordance with Agama Shastra and devotees’ sentiments.
The plan will be finalised after consultations with the Chief Minister.
Officials were directed to prepare plans to complete key works, including the Pushkar Ghat and the first phase of temple development, ahead of the Godavari Pushkarams next year.
The government also plans to develop Bhadrachalam into the largest spiritual hub in Telangana.
As part of the initiative, a Tribal Museum will be set up at Ramavaram near Bhadrachalam. The ministers also suggested development of other important temples in the region, including the Korivi Veerabhadra Swamy Temple and the Narasimha Swamy Temple at Mallur, in view of the upcoming Pushkarams.
MP Balaram Naik, MLA Tellam Venkata Rao and other officials were present at the meeting.
