Actor & padma Vibhushan Awardee Chiranjeevi Praises YSS Services at Ugadi Event

Hyderabad, Mar 19 (TNT): Actor and Padma Vibhushan awardee Chiranjeevi on Thursday lauded the services of Yogoda Satsanga Society (YSS), appreciating its century-long contribution to the promotion of Kriya Yoga.

He presented an Ugadi award to YSS Vice President Swami Smaranananda at a function organised by a media house in Hyderabad and felicitated him with a shawl.

Speaking on the occasion, Chiranjeevi commended the organisation’s efforts in spreading the teachings of Kriya Yoga over the years.

Swami Smaranananda highlighted the connection between breath and mind, stating that controlling one’s breath can influence thoughts and help achieve mental discipline. He said Kriya Yoga can deliver significant benefits in achieving inner balance.

He recalled that YSS was founded in 1917 by Paramahansa Yogananda, and noted that lessons on Kriya Yoga meditation can be accessed through the organisation.

Swami Smaranananda, a former IIT Kharagpur student, chose a spiritual path despite opportunities to work with former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, and has been serving YSS for over four decades.

YSS continues to undertake educational and service activities while playing a key role in spreading the ancient practice of Kriya Yoga to a wider audience.
