Andhra University delegation meets ASCI Chairman to discuss Geology, Mining strategies

Hyderabad, Mar 18 (TNT): A delegation comprising experts in geology, along with professors, teachers and alumni of Andhra University, met K. Padmanabhaiah, Chairman of the Administrative Staff College of India(ASCI), at the Bella Vista Campus here on Wednesday.

Durign the meeting, the discussions focused on strategies to revitalise the geology and mining sectors, strengthen groundwater management and accelerate exploration of oil, natural gas and rare earth elements, with the aim of contributing to India’s sustainable development, the College said in a release here.

The delegation included Dr B. Umamaheswar Rao, Scientist at the Central Ground Water Board, Dr P. N. Rao, former scientist at CGWB, Mr P. V. Krishna Rao, Deputy Director General at the Geological Survey of India, Mr K. S. Bhasker Rao, Scientist at GSI, Mr P. V. Ramana Murthy, Consultant Geologist, Mr S. Umamaheswara Rao, Director of Critical Mineral Trackers, Mr D. N. Rao, Consultant Hydrogeologist, Mr Karimulla, General Manager, and Mr K. Nageswara Rao.

The interaction highlighted the need for coordinated efforts between academic institutions, scientific bodies and policymakers to address emerging challenges in natural resource management and exploration.
