20 Lakh Jobs Only Goal, Ensure Investments Take Shape: AP Min. Lokesh to APEDB Officials

Mangalagiri,Mar 17 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh on Tuesday said creation of 20 lakh jobs should be the single focus of the state government and called for efforts to ensure that investment proposals translate into actual projects on the ground.

Addressing after inaugurating the new office of the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) at Mayuri Tech Park in Chinakakani near Mangalagiri, Lokesh said the previous government had neglected APEDB and stressed the need to accelerate investments and job creation.

He reiterated his commitment made during the Yuvagalam padayatra to generate 20 lakh jobs in both public and private sectors.

The Minister said the state has been successful in attracting significant investments, claiming that a substantial share of investments coming into the country is being secured by Andhra Pradesh.

He appreciated APEDB officials and its CEO for their efforts.

Highlighting investor interest, Lokesh said global companies such as Google, ArcelorMittal, Tata Consultancy Services and Cognizant have chosen Andhra Pradesh for investments.

He said the focus should now shift to grounding projects and ensuring they are not diverted to other states.

He also called on officials to work towards cluster-based development, with around 22 clusters already identified, and emphasised vertical and horizontal integration to boost industrial growth.

Lokesh said the government would continue to review all projects and ensure timely implementation, adding that job creation must remain the top priority.
