Ontimitta (YSR Kadapa Dist, Andhra Pradesh), Mar 16 (TNT): YSR Kadapa District Collector Cherukuri Sridhar on Monday directed officials of all departments to make advance and coordinated arrangements to facilitate devotees attending the annual Brahmotsavams at the Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple.
Chairing a review meeting at the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) guest house her, Sridhar said a large number of devotees are expected to participate in the Sri Rama Navami and Sri Sitarama Kalyanotsavam celebrations.
He instructed officials to prepare a comprehensive action plan covering security, parking, distribution of annaprasadam, temporary toilets, uninterrupted power supply, first-aid centres, bus services, help desks, signboards, sanitation and public address systems.
TTD Additional Executive Officer C. H. Venkaiah Chowdary said special decorations reflecting Telugu culture and tradition will be arranged during the Brahmotsavams.
He informed that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will offer Pattu Vastrams to the deities during the Sri Sitarama Kalyanotsavam scheduled for April 1.
He directed officials to arrange attractive electrical and floral decorations and ensure coordination among Srivari Sevaks, police personnel and TTD staff so that devotees waiting in galleries near the Kalyana Vedika do not face inconvenience.
Considering the summer season, he also instructed officials to arrange water sprinkling near the venue and take measures to prevent heatstroke among devotees.
TTD Joint Executive Officer V. Veerabrahmam said the festivities will begin with Ankurarpanam on March 26 followed by Dwajarohanam on March 27 marking the start of the Brahmotsavams.
Meanwhile, TTD Chief Vigilance and Security Officer K. V. Muralikrishna said elaborate security arrangements are being made in coordination with the police.
He also proposed setting up a toll-free helpline through the Command Control Centre to respond quickly to issues faced by devotees.
Several district officials and TTD officers attended the meeting.
