Telangana Jagruthi Prez & ex-BRS MP Kavitha warns defamation case against HYDRAA Commissioner

Hyderabad, Mar 15 (TNT): Telangana Jagruthi President and former BRS MP,  K. Kavitha on Sunday warned that she would file a defamation case against HYDRAA Commissioner Ranganath, alleging that the agency was targeting the poor and spreading misinformation regarding her recent protest over alleged encroachments along the Musi River.

Addressing a press conference at the Telangana Jagruthi office here, Kavitha demanded that HYDRAA immediately delete videos posted about her protest, warning that she would move court if they were not removed.

She alleged that the enforcement agency demolishes houses of the poor but fails to act against influential persons involved in alleged encroachments.

Kavitha, the daughter of BRS Spremo and former Telangana Chief Minsiter K.Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) ,  said she had already submitted several complaints with supporting evidence but no action had been taken.

Referring to the Musi rejuvenation project, she demanded that the state government clearly explain its benefits to the public and questioned the increase in the estimated cost of the project’s first phase.

Kavitha also criticised the authorities for allegedly not addressing concerns related to sewage treatment plants, drainage inflows into the river and compensation for affected residents.

On the issue of demolitions of house in Velugumatla (Khammam Dist), she alleged that hundreds of houses had been razed but many affected families were yet to receive justice.

She announced that a fact-finding committee would be constituted on the 17th of this month to examine the matter and asserted that her organisation would continue to support the affected families.
