Hyderabad, Mar 14 (TNT): L. C. Mallaiah, Professor at the School of Economics, University of Hyderabad (UoH), has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Dravidian University, Kuppam, Andha Pradesh with effect from March 13, 2026.
Prof. Mallaiah, a distinguished alumnus of the University of Hyderabad, completed his MA, MBA, MPhil and PhD from the university before joining its faculty, the University said in a release here on Saturday.
He has over two decades of teaching and research experience in Economics.
Before joining UoH, he served as a Professor at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow.
His academic career also includes faculty positions at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar National Institute of Social Sciences, Mhow, the Central University of Karnataka, and the Government College for Women in Begumpet, Hyderabad.
A noted scholar, Prof. Mallaiah specialises in Development Economics, Industrial Economics, Agricultural Economics, Economics of Marginalised Communities, Gender Economics and Ambedkar Economics.
The University of Hyderabad community congratulated him on his appointment and wished him success in his new role.
