Hyderabad, Mar 13 (TNT): Heritage Foods Limited has inaugurated a new greenfield ice cream manufacturing facility at Shamirpet near Hyderabad, on Friday, as the dairy major looks to strengthen its presence in the fast-growing value-added dairy segment.

The state-of-the-art plant has an installed production capacity of about 24 million litres per annum and is equipped with automated production systems and advanced quality control infrastructure to support scalable operations and ensure consistent product quality, the company said in a release here.
The company said its ice cream business currently generates around ₹100 crore in annual revenue, and the commissioning of the Shamirpet facility will significantly enhance its manufacturing capacity, enabling it to scale the business up to five times the current level over the next seven to eight years.
The expansion is part of Heritage Foods’ strategy to deepen its focus on high-margin value-added dairy products, particularly ice creams and desserts, amid rising consumer demand driven by premiumisation trends and growing consumption of packaged dairy products.
The facility is also expected to strengthen the company’s manufacturing footprint and support its expanding distribution network across South and Western India, improving supply efficiency and enabling faster market reach.
