T-Hub, JETRO Partner to Boost India–Japan Deep-Tech Startup Collaboration

Hyderabad, Mar 12 (TNT): T-Hub, India’s largest startup incubator, on Thursday said it has entered a strategic partnership with the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) to accelerate cross-border collaboration between Indian and Japanese deep-tech startups.

Under the agreement, Hyderabad-based T-Hub will act as a gateway for Japanese startups, corporates, and investors seeking to enter India, while providing Indian startups structured pathways to expand into Japan.

The partnership will focus on high-growth sectors such as Pharma and Medical Equipment, Space and Aerospace, Defence, Mobility, Smart Infrastructure, Deeptech, AI, Emerging Technologies, and Industry 4.0, including IoT and cloud computing.

Key initiatives include curated startup exchange programs, corporate open-innovation engagements, market access enablement, regulatory guidance, ecosystem immersion, and investor connect platforms.

The launch was reinforced with students from Tongali Nagoya University and Shizuoka University participating in immersive learning experiences at T-Hub, showcasing the depth of bilateral engagement.

The collaboration builds on T-Hub’s ongoing partnerships with Japanese corporations and venture funds, including NEC, OKI Electric, Suzuki, Denso, Aisin, Nitto Denko, Panasonic, Toyota, and academic and government bodies like JICA.

Last year, T-Hub partnered with Beyond Next Ventures to scale deep-tech ventures and strengthen Indo-Japan corporate integration.

T-Hub CEO Kavikrut, said: “Partnerships like these create global pathways for startups building from India for the world. Our collaboration with JETRO enables founders to access international opportunities, collaborate with industry leaders, and co-develop globally competitive technologies.”

Toshihiro Mizutani, Director General of JETRO Bengaluru, added: “This partnership will strengthen India-Japan startup collaborations, expand structured support for cross-border growth, and help Japanese companies engage more closely with Telangana’s innovation ecosystem.”

The initiative aligns with broader India-Japan strategic priorities emphasizing technology cooperation, startup ecosystem integration, and innovation-led economic growth, combining India’s position as the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem with Japan’s R&D-intensive industrial capabilities.

The collaboration aims to create high-impact innovation corridors across deep-tech and advanced manufacturing sectors.
