GMR School of Aviation, Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya Tie Up to Train Aircraft Maintenance Engineers

Hyderabad, Mar 11 (TNT): GMR School of Aviation, a strategic business unit of GMR Aero Technic, on Wednesday said it has partnered with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya to develop skilled aircraft maintenance engineers and bridge the talent gap in India’s aviation maintenance sector.

Under the collaboration, students will gain access to a B.Sc. (Aircraft Maintenance Engineering) programme that integrates academic learning with industry-oriented technical training aligned with real-world Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) requirements, the Aviation school said in a release here.

Announcing the partnership at the MRO South Asia Summit 2026 in New Delhi, Vice-Chancellor Manoj Choudhary said the initiative reflects the spirit of industry-academia collaboration aimed at creating industry-ready human capital for India’s growing aviation MRO sector.

Ashok Gopinath, President and Accountable Manager of GMR Aero Technic, said the programme will help develop DGCA and EASA licensed aircraft maintenance engineers while equipping them with practical exposure to operational MRO environments.

The partnership combines the academic and research strengths of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya with the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering licensing programme of GMR School of Aviation approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, officials said.
