Hyderabad, Mar 10 (TNT): Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Tuesday directed that all Gram Panchayats without permanent buildings be provided with permanent structures within the next three years.
He asked the Panchayat Raj Department to prepare detailed plans for implementation.
During pre-budget review meetings at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat here, Mallu suggested constructing Tahsildar and MPDO offices together wherever land is available.
He emphasized child welfare, calling for nutritious meals and modern teaching methods in Anganwadi centres, and instructed officials to relocate children found begging in urban areas to Shishu Vihar centres with modern kitchens.
The Deputy CM urged the introduction of employment-oriented courses in Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs), aligned with industry needs and MoUs signed during the Global Summit, and linked with Skill University under the CURE, PURE, and RARE policies.
On tribal development, he said sand mining in agency areas should be carried out exclusively through tribal agencies, with full support from ITDAs to promote entrepreneurship.
Mallu also stressed the need to elevate Telangana tourism, highlighting tiger zones at Kawal and Srisailam, along with eco-tourism and temple tourism initiatives.
He called for proposals for Excise Police Stations and village-level drug awareness programs using cultural performances, which could also provide livelihood opportunities for local artists.
The meetings were attended by Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao, Seethakka, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Gaddam Vivek, and senior officials from Finance, Panchayat Raj, Mining, Women & Child Welfare, Housing, and Information departments.
