New Delhi, Mar 1 (TNT) : Senior Congress leader and Vice-Chairman of the Telangana Congress Disciplinary Action Committee, Shyam Mohan Anantula, expressed confidence that the Indian National Congress would recognise his over six decades of service and consider him for nomination to the Rajya Sabha from Telangana.

Speaking to the media in the national capital on Saturday, Shyam said he remained committed to strengthening the party organisation and advancing its ideological vision.

He is in New Delhi on February 28 and March 1 and is scheduled to meet senior party leaders, including AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and General Secretary (Organisation) K. C. Venugopal, among others.

His visit assumes significance in the backdrop of the forthcoming Rajya Sabha elections, with two seats from Telangana set to fall vacant in April.

Party sources indicated that discussions are likely to focus on organisational matters, the evolving political situation in the State, and the party’s strategy for the Upper House polls.

Shyam’s supporters maintain that his long-standing loyalty to the party, administrative experience, and grassroots connect make him a strong contender for the nomination.

His meetings with the central leadership are being closely watched within Congress circles.
