ESIC Medical College in Faridabad performs corneal transplant surgery
Faridabad, Nov 6 (TNT): The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Medical College and Hospital in Faridabad has successfully performed a corneal transplant surgery, marking an advancement in its specialised ophthalmic services.
The procedure, known as Penetrating Keratoplasty (PKP), was performed on October 27, 2026, on a 46-year-old patient suffering from visual impairment due to corneal opacity.
The surgery was conducted by Dr S R Singh, DMS and eye surgeon, along with his team, according to an official release.
The achievement is expected to strengthen specialised clinical services and expand access to advanced healthcare facilities for ESIC beneficiaries.
