Telangana Govt to Introduce Core Urban Act, Replacing GHMC Act

Hyderabad, Feb 28 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to draft a ‘Core Urban Act’ to replace the existing GHMC Act, covering GHMC, Malkajgiri, and Cyberabad municipal corporations within ORR limits.

The CM emphasized that all permissions, fees, and development works should follow the new Act, an official release said here on Saturday.

He called for priority on sanitation, proper garbage management, road construction, and streetlight maintenance, with strict monitoring and accountability.

The Core Urban Act will underpin the state government’s forthcoming 99-day development programme, aimed at fast-tracking urban infrastructure and civic services.
