Anakapalli (Andhra Pradesh), Feb 28 (TNT): In a major boost to industrial development in north Andhra Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education and IT, Nara Lokesh laid the foundation stone for a new manufacturing unit of Blue Jet Healthcare Private Limited at Seethapalem in Rambilli mandal in the district on Saturday.
The project will be set up in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) spread across Achyutapuram and Rambilli mandals.
The company plans to invest Rs 2,300 crore in the facility, which is expected to generate employment for around 1,750 people.
The proposed unit will manufacture pharmaceutical intermediates and function as a contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) facility.
The State government has allotted 102.48 acres for the project, which will be developed in three phases.
Speaking on the occasion, Lokesh said the State is witnessing increased industrial investments under the coalition government and that the project would significantly contribute to the development of north Andhra while creating substantial employment opportunities for local youth.
Earlier , the Minister was accorded a traditional welcome upon his arrival at the Seethapalem Industrial Park, where he performed the bhoomi puja and unveiled a commemorative plaque.
