Recently Surrendered Top Maoists Meet Telangana CM, Seek Enhanced Rehabilitation Package

Hyderabad, Feb 27 (TNT): A group of recently surrendered top CPI (Maoist) leaders met Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday and sought enhancement of the State’s rehabilitation package on par with neighbouring states.

The delegation included former senior functionaries who had held key positions in the banned organisation.

The meeting was attended by senior government officials, including Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao and Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy, among others.

According to the DGP , 591 Maoists have surrendered in Telangana over the past two years, attributing the development to coordinated security measures and improved rehabilitation policies.

During the interaction, the Chief Minister welcomed the former cadres’ decision to return to the mainstream and said that democratic processes offer the only sustainable path to address grievances.

He assured them that the government would provide security and extend all eligible rehabilitation benefits to enable them to lead dignified lives.

The surrendered cadres thanked the State government for facilitating their return and urged enhancement of financial relief and rehabilitation measures.

Officials described the meeting as cordial and said it marked a continuing effort to encourage more cadres to renounce violence and reintegrate into society.
