Telangana: Court Issues Interim Injunction in KTR’s Rs 10-Cr Defamation Suit
The court also directed certain media organisations, including Mana Tholi Velugu TV, ABN Telugu and Vahini TV, to remove previously published videos and news reports containing the disputed allegations and refrain from publishing such content in future.
KTR approached the court alleging that statements concerning drug consumption, claims portraying him as a drug addict or promoter of drug culture, and allegations about his personal relationships had damaged his reputation.
He contended that the allegations had been disseminated through videos, interviews and news reports without proper verification.
He sought ₹10 crore in damages, along with mandatory and permanent injunctions against further publication of the disputed content.
Senior Advocate P. Vishwajanani, appearing for KTR, presented arguments before the court on Wednesday, following which it issued the interim orders.
