Aptech, FTII Join Hands to Expand Access to Film and Creative Education

New Delhi, Oct 27 (TNT): Aptech Limited and the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) have entered into a collaboration to expand access to film education and creative skills across the country, the Institues said on Tuesday.

The partnership will combine FTII’s academic expertise and cinematic legacy with Aptech’s more than three decades of experience in vocational education, particularly in media and entertainment, creative careers and the AVGC-XR (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics and Extended Reality) ecosystem.

The two institutions will develop structured, industry-oriented learning programmes for aspiring filmmakers, content creators, animators, visual effects professionals and other creative talent, with a focus on practical skills and industry exposure.

The collaboration will provide access to FTII-led learning experiences through Aptech’s training network.

The offerings will range from specialised workshops and micro-credentials to certification programmes and a jointly developed immersive filmmaking programme.

The initiative will be implemented through three engagement models, providing multiple pathways for learners seeking careers in the creative industries.

Sandip Weling, Whole-time Director and Chief Business Officer, Global Retail, Aptech Limited, said the collaboration brought together FTII’s cinematic legacy and Aptech’s expertise in vocational education and nationwide training delivery.

Santosh Ojha, Head of Strategy at FTII, said the association would help extend the institute’s academic and cinematic expertise beyond its campus by leveraging Aptech’s network of creative education centres.

Abir Aich, Executive Vice-President of Aptech Limited, said the initiative aimed to bring filmmaking practices closer to students pursuing creative careers.

By combining technology- and production-focused learning with FTII’s expertise in cinema and storytelling, the programme would provide a broader understanding of film and visual content creation, he added.

The collaboration will also offer specialised learning opportunities, industry mentorship and internship opportunities to both new and existing students, according to the company.
