Kakinada, Feb27 (TNT) : In a brutal and bizarre incident , a bride groom Polipalli Surya Prakash(41) was stoned to death , hours after his marriage with his childhood girl friend and class mate Ayinavilli Sandhya (40) a deputy Tahasildar of Rayavaram , by her two brothers as an honour killing.
This incident took place near the SC Peta of Vemulapalli, a hamlet of Dwarapudi .
Both the couple went to Annavaram secretly on Thursday, got married quietly and returned home on his two wheeler around 11.30pm.
The bride’s brothers along with relations waylaid them and stoned him with boulders killing him on the spot, while the bride stood dazed .
The reason for the killing was that the victim belongs to a different caste, though both are BCs and the accused later confessed before police that they killed him to keep their caste’s honour.
The deceased Surya Prakash hail from Vemulapalli village while Sandhya is from Z. Medapadu village.
Both studied in a same school and loved each other but her family members totally opposed to their marriage.
Mandapeta rural Subinspector V Kishore, Circle inspector P. Doraraju rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Mandapet government hospital for postmortem. Rajamahendravaram East Zone DSP Vidya visited the scene of murder and made inquiries with neighbours on the incident .
