Castrol India Q3 revenue rises 27% to Rs 1,735-cr
Mumbai, Oct 24 (TNT): Lubricants major Castrol India Limited on Saturday reported a 27 per cent year-on-year jump in revenue from operations at ₹1,735 crore for the third quarter ended September 30, 2026, driven by early pricing actions and sustained volume expansion in its industrial division.
Operating profit, however, faced margin compression due to sharp commodity cost inflation and adverse foreign exchange movements., the company said in a release.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) contracted 19 per cent year-on-year to ₹262 crore during the July–September quarter, compared to the corresponding period last fiscal.
The company follows the calendar year (January to December) for financial reporting.
Profit before tax (PBT) for the third quarter stood at ₹243 crore, down from ₹308 crore in Q3 2025, while profit after tax (PAT) declined to ₹176 crore from ₹228 crore in the year-ago quarter.
For the nine-month period (9M) ended September 30, 2026, Castrol India maintained broad growth momentum, posting a 20 per cent rise in revenue from operations at ₹5,151 crore against ₹4,282 crore in 9M 2025.
Nine-month EBITDA grew 11 per cent to ₹1,086 crore, while net profit advanced 8.6 per cent to ₹766 crore compared to ₹705 crore recorded in the corresponding nine months of 2025.
Commenting on the financial performance, Castrol India Managing Director Saugata Basuray said: “In a quarter marked by a sharp rise in raw material costs and adverse currency movements, Castrol delivered a resilient performance. Pricing actions taken early in the year helped moderate the impact on margins, while we continued to invest in expanding our distribution network in rural India and accelerating our industrial business, which delivered another quarter of double-digit volume growth.”
Chief Financial Officer Mrinalini Srinivasan noted that the operating backdrop is expected to remain inflationary and volatile.
“We will act with agility to manage margin pressures through pricing and cost actions, while remaining focused on growing market share across every segment in which we operate,” she added.
Operationally, the company expanded its national retail footprint to around 1,67,000 outlets, encompassing 46,000 rural counters, while its Auto Care range achieved placement across approximately 50,000 retail touchpoints alongside e-commerce platforms.
The service network expanded to over 870 Castrol Auto Service centres, 37,000 independent bike workshops, and 16,000 multi-brand units.
