ICICI Prudential Life Insurance to recruit 20k women advisors by FY27-end
The announcement coincides with the second anniversary of the initiative, which aims to empower women through training and support to build careers as financial planners.
Women advisors contributed 45 per cent of the company’s agency business, with more than 78,000 women advisors on its network as of September 30, 2026.
They accounted for around 32 per cent of its total advisor base, the company said.
Amish Banker, Chief Distribution Officer of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Limited, said women advisors had demonstrated a strong understanding of customer needs and made a significant contribution to the company’s business.
In Bengaluru, Kerala and Mumbai, women advisors accounted for more than 50 per cent of the company’s agency business, he said.
Women advisors came from diverse backgrounds, including homemakers, salaried professionals and businesswomen, and brought skills in relationship management, problem-solving and financial planning to the insurance sector, Banker said.
Launched in 2024, the Narishakti initiative provides training and support to help women pursue careers in financial planning. It also offers flexible working arrangements to enable them to balance professional opportunities with family commitments, the company said.
Banker said the initiative aligned with the government’s vision of achieving “Insurance for All by 2047”. He added that Navratri provided an opportunity to encourage more women to join the programme.
As of September 30, 2026, 47 per cent of the company’s women advisors had been associated with it for more than 10 years. More than 500 women advisors had also qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), an international association of high-performing life insurance agents and financial services professionals, the company said.
