Hyderabad, Oct 17 (TNT): The Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS) police have apprehended QNET promoter Dig Vijay Singh at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi while he was allegedly attempting to travel to Dubai in connection with cases relating to an alleged large-scale financial fraud linked to QNET and Vihaan Direct Selling (India) Pvt. Ltd, police said on Saturday.

According to a Hyderabad City Police press release, Singh, identified as accused A-11, was apprehended on October 13 following his detention at the airport pursuant to a Look Out Circular (LOC).

A special team from the CCS Detective Department took him into custody at the IGI Airport Police Station.

The case involves allegations that promoters and associates of QNET induced people to invest substantial amounts by promising lucrative commissions, high returns and foreign trips under the guise of multi-level marketing, binary business models and e-commerce activities.

Police said Singh was allegedly a key member of the QNET network and promoted its business through online meetings and social media platforms.

Two mobile phones were seized from him during the investigation.

He was produced before a competent court in Delhi, which granted transit remand for his production before the concerned court in Hyderabad.

The investigating agency is expected to seek his police custody for further questioning regarding his alleged role, financial transactions and the activities of other accused persons.

According to the police, investigations across multiple cases indicate that the alleged fraud could involve approximately Rs 10,000 crore, with lakhs of people reportedly affected.

In the cases being investigated by the Hyderabad CCS, 43 victims have so far been examined, involving nearly Rs 5 crore.

Police have also frozen a bank account of Vihaan Direct Selling (India) Pvt. Ltd. containing Rs 4 crore, the press note said.
