Logitech Begins Local Manufacturing in India Under Make in India Initiative
The move marks a diversification of Logitech’s global manufacturing footprint and expands its presence in India beyond its existing commercial operations and Chennai-based Global Capability Centre, the company said in a release on Friday.
The company is collaborating with domestic manufacturing partners to establish local production capabilities.
Manufacturing will initially focus on high-demand products in the webcam and pointing device categories.
Logitech said local assembly would help reduce turnaround times, improve supply chain resilience and enable faster responses to customer demand in India.
Sree Chenincherry, Chief Supply Chain Operations Officer at Logitech, said India was a strategically important market for the company and that local production would strengthen its operational agility and supply chain capabilities.
Delphine Donné, Vice-President and General Manager of Personal Work Solutions at Logitech, said the initiative reflected the company’s commitment to the Indian market.
She noted that its Chennai-based Global Capability Centre supported the development of design-led, software- and AI-enabled hardware.
The expansion comes amid growing digital adoption in India. Logitech cited nearly 970 million internet subscriptions and annual personal computer sales of nearly 16 million units in 2025 as indicators of the market’s potential.
The company said local manufacturing could also support more sustainable operations by shortening supply chains, reducing freight-related emissions and improving domestic logistics efficiency.
The initiative is expected to contribute to the regional industrial ecosystem through technical roles in plant management, quality engineering, logistics and local vendor integration.
