Dr NTRUHS, CCRH sign five-year MoU for joint homoeopathy research in AP

Vijayawada, Oct 15 (TNT): Dr NTR University of Health Sciences (Dr NTRUHS) and the Central Council for Research  in Homoeopathy (CCRH), under the Union Ministry of AYUSH, on Thursday signed a five-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote collaborative research in homoeopathy and integrative healthcare in Andhra Pradesh.

The agreement aims to facilitate joint clinical studies, multidisciplinary research and academic exchanges involving homoeopathy, modern medicine, dental sciences, nursing, physiotherapy and other AYUSH systems.

The MoU was signed by CCRH Director General Dr Subhash Kaushik and Dr NTRUHS Registrar Dr T. Sai Sudheer in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Dr P. Chandra Sekhar at the university campus.

Under the agreement, the two institutions will share research infrastructure and expertise, undertake projects addressing national health priorities, and organise seminars, workshops and training programmes.

Project-specific protocols will be developed to determine study designs, funding and clinical implementation.

The proposed research will explore homoeopathy in relation to non-communicable diseases and possible interdisciplinary applications in dental medicine, physiotherapy and nursing.

Clinical studies will also be undertaken to assess treatment approaches and outcomes.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Chandra Sekhar said the university, which serves 536 health science institutions across Andhra Pradesh and offers 133 specialised courses, was well positioned to facilitate collaboration among different healthcare disciplines. The partnership would help promote research across systems of medicine with a focus on patient care, he said.
