TTD to Add 20 More Electric Buses to Srivari Dharma Ratham Service in Tirumala

Tirumala, Oct 13 (TNT): The operation of free electric buses under the Srivari Dharma Ratham service has helped reduce air pollution in Tirumala while improving transport facilities for pilgrims, TTD General Manager (Transport) Ramu said on Tuesday.

Addressing the media at the Rambageecha Media Centre in Tirumala, he said the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) was currently operating 38 electric buses on two routes, with a bus available every three minutes.

The daily number of trips had increased from 30, which earlier catered to around 35,000 devotees, to 650 trips, benefiting nearly 85,000 pilgrims, he said.

To further strengthen the transport network, TTD would add 20 more electric buses to the existing fleet shortly, Ramu said.

He also said TTD was considering the installation of digital display boards at all bus stops in Tirumala to provide pilgrims with real-time information on bus arrival and departure timings.

Plans were also under consideration to establish smart bus stations to improve passenger convenience and streamline transport services for devotees visiting the hill shrine, he added.
