Brazil firm Invites Singareni to Partner in Lithium Mining

Hyderabad, Feb 25 (TNT): A high-level delegation from Brazil-based Companhia Brasileira de Litio (CBL) has invited state-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) to partner in lithium mining operations in Brazil.

The delegation, comprising CBL Board Director Daniel Leme and Chief Executive Officer Vinicius Alvarenga, met SCCL Chairman and Managing Director Dr. N. Balaram at Singareni Bhavan here on Wednesday and briefed him on the company’s lithium mining projects and expansion plans.

They said lithium has emerged as a critical mineral of global importance due to its increasing use in electric vehicles, renewable energy storage and advanced technologies, and noted that collaboration with Singareni could offer promising opportunities.

The CBL representatives also informed that the company is holding discussions with other leading Indian firms to strengthen lithium mining and supply chain partnerships.

SCCL Director (Projects and Planning) K. Venkateswarlu and Director (Personnel and Finance) Gowtham Potru presented the company’s operational profile, technical capabilities and diversification initiatives.

SCCL officials said the company would examine the technical feasibility, commercial viability and strategic benefits of lithium mining opportunities in Brazil before taking a final decision.
