Hyd: Galleri5 AI Studio Showcases Technology for AI-Powered Cinema Production

The event, held at Park Hyatt Hyderabad, brought together filmmakers, producers, creators and technology leaders to demonstrate capabilities including 4K cinematic output, AI-powered visual effects (VFX), AI actors and avatars, consistent character creation, live-action-to-AI workflows and production pipelines for long-form entertainment.
Galleri5 said its technology had already been used for Mahabharat: Ek Dharmayudh, produced for Star Plus and JioHotstar, and was now powering Chiranjeevi Hanuman, a full-length AI feature being developed with Star Studio18 for theatrical release. A teaser from the film has already been screened in cinemas, according to the company.
The NXTinAI event marked the next stage in the company’s efforts to develop technology capable of supporting AI-driven filmmaking at the scale and quality required for cinema.
The demonstrations covered workflows spanning idea development, scripting, visualisation, character creation, shot design, VFX and post-production.
A key attraction was the Galleri5 AI Experience Centre, where filmmakers and creators could directly explore the technology through visual development, character creation, AI-powered VFX, avatars, cinematic video and filmmaking workflows.
The company said its technology was being developed using insights from production work across television, films, advertising and long-form entertainment, with the aim of addressing practical creative and production challenges rather than merely generating standalone content.
Vijay Subramaniam, Founder and Group CEO of Collective Artists Network, said AI represented a significant technological shift for storytellers and could expand opportunities for creators by lowering barriers to film production.
He said the company’s investment in Galleri5 was aimed at taking AI technology beyond internet content into television and cinema, adding that India had the talent, stories and filmmaking ecosystem to play a leading role in the emerging field.
Rahul Regulapati, Founder and CEO of Galleri5 and Partner at Collective Artists Network, said the next challenge was to make full-length cinematic production using AI possible at scale.
He identified 4K output, visual effects, consistent characters, AI actors and agentic production workflows as important components of that effort.
Hyderabad was chosen for the event because of its established filmmaking ecosystem and technology sector, the company said, adding that it aimed to bring the two industries closer through AI-powered production tools.
