Hyderabad emerging as global destination for international companies: IT Min. Sridhar Babu
Hyderabad, Oct 7 (TNT): Telangana’s young, skilled and globally competitive talent pool is driving the growth of technology and financial services companies in the State, said IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu.
Addressing the 30th anniversary celebrations of D E Shaw India in Jubilee Hills here on Tuesday, Sridhar Babu said the company’s three-decade journey in Hyderabad reflected its long-term confidence in the city and its talent.
He said D E Shaw, which established its first India office in Hyderabad in 1996 with around 20 employees, had grown to more than 2,000 employees across Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Gurugram.
The company’s teams in India are contributing globally across technology, financial research, financial operations and corporate functions, he said.
The Minister said Hyderabad had transformed over the past three decades into a major destination for technology, innovation, financial services and Global Capability Centres.
He said the Telangana government was working to create an ecosystem that would enable global companies to establish operations, undertake high-value activities, drive innovation and create employment opportunities in the State.
Welcoming D E Shaw’s new purpose-built office at Neopolis, Sridhar Babu said the facility reflected the company’s continued confidence in Hyderabad and would provide scope for further expansion of its operations.
He assured global companies of continued government support in strengthening infrastructure, talent development, ease of doing business and innovation.
Sridhar Babu said companies such as D E Shaw had contributed to Hyderabad’s emergence as a global technology and financial services hub.
He congratulated the D E Shaw leadership and employees on completing 30 years in Hyderabad and expressed confidence that the company would continue to expand its presence in Telangana.
