Two-day BIOAGRI 2026 begins in Hyderabad, focuses on biological intelligence and smart agriculture

Hyderabad, Oct 7 (TNT): The two-day sixth annual BioAgri Industry Summit, BIOAGRI 2026, began at Ramoji Film City here on Wednesday, bringing together industry leaders, scientists, researchers, startups, policymakers and other stakeholders to discuss sustainable biological agriculture and smart farming technologies.

Organised by the BioAgri Input Producers Association (BIPA), the summit is being held with the theme “Biological Intelligence & Smart Agriculture”.

In his keynote address, Dr J P Singh, former Plant Protection Advisor to the Government of India, said biological agriculture was emerging as an important component of sustainable farming and stressed the need to integrate biological solutions, scientific research and smart technologies with farmers’ requirements.

The summit has participation from more than 1,000 delegates, 60 exhibitors and stakeholders from over 20 States. The exhibition features biopesticides, biofertilizers, biostimulants, pheromones and other biological agricultural inputs, besides digital technologies and equipment.

The inaugural day featured technical sessions on investment and business opportunities, soil health and technology opportunities for the bio-agri industry.

Discussions covered agri-biological markets, climate finance and carbon credits, regenerative agriculture, microbial applications, soil intelligence, mycorrhiza, biochar and emerging technologies.

A CEO panel discussed commercial scaling, quality assurance, microbial stability, regulatory pathways, research partnerships, policy incentives and opportunities in global markets.

The summit also featured sessions bringing together startups, academia, industry and researchers to discuss innovations in agriculture and biotechnology and strengthen industry-academia collaboration.

The first day concluded with an awards ceremony recognising achievements across industry, academia and the startup ecosystem.

A key feature of BIOAGRI 2026 is the BIPA Startup Challenge, which provides early-stage companies developing biological agriculture solutions an opportunity to present their innovations before industry leaders, investors and researchers.

BIPA, which represents more than 100 industry members, said the summit aimed to strengthen collaboration among industry, research institutions, startups, regulators and policymakers and promote wider adoption of sustainable biological solutions.
