Emirates launches daily direct service between Dubai and Helsinki
Helsinki, Oct 7 (TNT): Emirates on Wednesday launched its daily direct service between Dubai and Helsinki, marking the airline’s first arrival in the Finnish capital and introducing year-round direct connectivity between Finland and the UAE.
Flight EK167 arrived at Helsinki Airport at 1330 hours and was received by UAE Ambassador to Finland Amna Fikri, Finavia Senior Vice President of Route Development Petri Vuori and Emirates Vice President of Commercial Operations, North and West Europe, Pierfrancesco Carino, among other dignitaries and travel industry representatives, the airlines said in a release.
The inaugural flight was led by Emirates Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer Adnan Kazim along with a VIP delegation.
It also carried passengers from more than 20 cities across the airline’s global network, including Mumbai, Taipei, Ho Chi Minh City and Sydney.
The new service is aimed at strengthening leisure, business and trade links between Finland and the UAE while providing onward connections through Dubai to destinations across Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Australasia.
Kazim said Helsinki was an important addition to Emirates’ global network, connecting Finland with Dubai and destinations beyond on a year-round basis. He thanked the authorities in Finland and the UAE for their support in launching the service.
Finavia Senior Vice President Petri Vuori said the daily year-round service would strengthen Finland’s international connectivity with the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Australia through Emirates’ network.
Emirates will operate the route with its Airbus A350, which accommodates 298 passengers across Business, Premium Economy and Economy cabins.
The aircraft offers enhanced cabin space, updated technology and entertainment options.
Flight EK167 departs Dubai at 0815 hours and arrives in Helsinki at 1430 hours, while the return flight EK168 leaves Helsinki at 1620 hours and reaches Dubai at 0020 hours the following day.

The airline said passengers on the Helsinki service would have access to its inflight entertainment system, offering more than 6,500 channels, including Finnish films and music.
The service will also feature regionally inspired menus across cabin classes.
Emirates Holidays will also offer holiday packages covering Helsinki and Lapland, including Rovaniemi, with flights now available as part of the packages.
