TTD reviews arrangements for Navaratri Brahmotsavams

Tirumala, Oct 5 (TNT): Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer M Ravichandra on Monday reviewed the arrangements for the upcoming Navaratri Brahmotsavams of Sri Venkateswara Swamy at Tirumala.

The review meeting was held at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala in the presence of TTD Additional EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary and senior officials. District Collector Dr Venkateswar, Superintendent of Police L Subbarayudu, TTD JEOs Dr Sharath and Gopinath and CVSO Murali Krishna also participated.

The EO appreciated the coordinated efforts of TTD, police and other district departments during the recently concluded nine-day Salakatla Brahmotsavams held from September 15 to 23 and directed officials to maintain the same coordination during the Navaratri Brahmotsavams.

During the meeting, the Additional EO made a presentation on the arrangements made for the Salakatla Brahmotsavams.

He said an average of more than 73,500 devotees were provided comfortable darshan every day from September 14, when Ankurarpanam was performed, to September 23.

He said the cancellation of VIP break and privilege darshans helped ensure hassle-free darshan for devotees, who were also able to witness the Vahana Sevas.

The officials said a similar strategy was being planned for the Navaratri Brahmotsavams, with around 20 per cent more devotees expected due to the Dussehra holidays.

Arrangements relating to Annaprasadam, sanitation, Srivari Sevaks, floral decorations, electrical illumination, medical services, cultural programmes, SVBC telecast and security by TTD Vigilance and police were also reviewed.

Heads of various TTD departments, police and APSRTC officials attended the meeting.
