Kakinada K9 squad tops State in explosive detection

Kakinada, Oct 3 (TNT): Kakinada district police K9 squad secured first place in the state-level explosive and narcotic substances detection tests conducted as part of the 10-month training programme at the ISW Dog Training Centre in Vijayawada-Mangalagiri, Superintendent of Police Garikipati Bindu Madhav said on Saturday.

The SP congratulated the K9 squad of the 23rd batch for successfully completing the rigorous training and exhibiting exceptional skills, bringing recognition to Kakinada district police.

In the state-level explosive detection tests, Dog Leo, along with handler N.D. Dinesh Naidu and spare handler M. Gangadhara Rao, secured first place, she said.

In the narcotic substances detection wing, Dog Randy, along with handler Rajesh and spare handler M. Sivasankar, also secured first place.

The SP said the achievement was a matter of pride for Kakinada district and expressed confidence that the K9 team would continue its meritorious service and bring further recognition to the district police.

Additional SP (Administration) Dr Mahanti Kishore Kumar, Special Branch DSP K.V.V. Satyanarayana, Additional SP (Armed Reserve) Srinivasarao, Armed Reserve DSP V.G. Sriharirao and MT RI Narasimhamurthy were among those who congratulated the K9 squad and its handlers.
