AP CM, Shivraj Singh Chouhan to lay foundation for 3 lakh houses in Tenali, Guntur Dist on Oct 4

Amaravati, Oct 3 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will jointly lay the foundation stone for a 3 lakh-house project at Burripalem village in Tenali Assembly constituency of Guntur district on Sunday.

As part of the programme, the Chief Minister and the Union Minister will also launch a pilot project to construct 177 houses using 3D concrete printing technology in Burripalem and Obulanayudupalem villages, an official release said here on Saturday.

The pilot project is being jointly implemented by the Union Ministry of Rural Development, CSIR-CBRI, Roorkee, and the Andhra Pradesh government at an estimated cost of Rs 14 crore.

The 3D concrete printing technology is expected to speed up construction, reduce labour requirements and construction waste, and ensure quality and durability of houses.

The coalition government has handed over 5.50 lakh houses to beneficiaries during the last two years.

Mass housewarming programmes were conducted in two phases, covering three lakh houses in November last year and another 2.50 lakh houses in March this year.

The government is currently undertaking construction works to complete and hand over another 4.20 lakh houses to beneficiaries by next March.

The State government has also held discussions with the Centre to secure the maximum possible number of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) 2.0.

As part of the initiative, the Centre recently sanctioned three lakh houses to Andhra Pradesh.

The 3D concrete printing pilot project is being introduced for the first time in the country, according to the state government.
