Tiranga Ahimsa Car Rally held in Hyderabad to promote peace, national unity
Hyderabad, Oct 2 (TNT): Shri Vardhaman Sthanakvasi Jain Shravak Sangh, Greater Hyderabad (Kachiguda), organised the Tiranga Ahimsa Car Rally at Jal Vihar on Necklace Road here on Friday, bringing together the messages of patriotism and non-violence.
A total of 187 decorated cars, carrying the Indian National Flag and the Jain religious flag, participated in the 23-km rally.
The rally was flagged off in the presence of chief conveners Manoj Kothari, Dharmendra Nahar, Prashant Kocheta, Anraj Batna, Nemichand Bukhiya, Suresh Gundecha and Prem Kothari.
The rally passed through the Secretariat, Tank Bund, Ranigunj, Paradise, Begumpet, Somajiguda, Raj Bhavan Road, Khairatabad and Lakdi-ka-pul before returning to Jal Vihar.
Addressing the closing ceremony, senior police officer Mahesh Bhagwat said he had studied at a Jain school in Ahmednagar and had a deep appreciation for Jainism and its principles.
He commended the organisers for conveying the message of “Nation First, Religion Next”, saying the rally brought together national pride and religious values.
Recalling the Panch Sutra of Jainism, he said such initiatives could promote harmony, compassion and peaceful coexistence.
The rally was organised to mark the birth anniversary of Pujya Acharya Gyanchandra Ji Maharaj, Gandhi Jayanti, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri and the International Day of Non-Violence.
Open to people from all faiths and communities, the rally highlighted the values of non-violence, peace, compassion and national unity.
Prizes were presented to the cars adjudged the best-decorated at the conclusion of the event.
