Repalle, Oct 1 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday interacted with a DWCRA self-help group (SHG) member who expanded her grocery business with the support of a group linkage loan, during his visit to Repalle in Bapatla district.

G Jejamma and her husband G Srinivasa Rao started Sri Lakshmi Kirana General Store in Ward No. 4 of Repalle in February 2025 with an initial investment of Rs 1 lakh.

They received a Rs 2 lakh DWCRA group linkage loan in June 2025, which helped them expand the business, Srinivasa Rao told the Chief Minister.

Naidu encouraged women to use DWCRA loans and government incentives to establish small businesses and gradually expand their enterprises, promoting financial independence and economic empowerment.

The Chief Minister visited the store while participating in the NTR Bharosa pension distribution programme under the Pedala Panduga initiative in Repalle constituency.

He also interacted with SHG women about their businesses, experiences and future plans, and enquired about their awareness of WhatsApp Business for managing and expanding their enterprises.

Naidu later distributed an old-age pension to Venkata Rao, Srinivasa Rao’s father, and encouraged other DWCRA women to explore business opportunities and pursue self-employment.
