KFintech, APMI launch AML platform for PMS industry

Mumbai, Oct 1 (TNT): KFin Technologies Ltd (KFintech) and the Association of Portfolio Managers in India (APMI) on Thursday launched InPro, a common anti-money laundering (AML) compliance platform for India’s Portfolio Management Services (PMS) industry.

The platform was launched by Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey at APMI’s third annual conference in Mumbai.

APMI has adopted InPro as the central AML compliance platform for its members.

InPro integrates investor screening, continuous monitoring, case management and audit trails.

It enables portfolio managers to screen investor profiles against global sanctions lists, Indian debarment lists, politically exposed person databases, regulatory watchlists and adverse media sources.

The platform also allows compliance teams to review alerts, investigate potential matches, escalate cases and document decisions through a structured workflow.

The initiative aims to provide portfolio managers, including smaller and boutique firms, access to common compliance infrastructure and reduce the need for individual firms to build and maintain their own systems.

KFintech Managing Director and CEO Sreekanth Nadella said the platform would help integrate screening and ongoing monitoring into AML compliance operations across the PMS sector.

APMI Chairman Vikas Khemani said the adoption of a common platform would improve access to technology-enabled compliance capabilities and strengthen governance across the industry.
