Telangana CM Revanth stresses Centre-state cooperation despite ideological differences
Karimnagar, Sept 30 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday stressed the need for cooperation between the Centre and the state for development, despite ideological differences.
He said he would meet the Prime Minister and Union ministers as many times as necessary to resolve issues concerning Telangana.
Addressing a meeting after inaugurating the new district Collectorate in Karimnagar, the Chief Minister took a dig at the opposition for counting his visits to New Delhi, saying continuous engagement with the Centre had yielded results.
He cited the transfer of 170 acres of defence land for state development within six months and permission to construct a road passing beneath the Begumpet airport runway in Hyderabad.
“Despite ideological differences, we should cooperate with each other for the sake of development,” he said, adding that projects built at a cost of hundreds of crores of rupees would be of little use without the necessary clearances from the Centre.
The Chief Minister urged government employees to prioritise public service, particularly for the poor and those approaching government offices seeking assistance.
“Whether it is the State Chief Minister or the Prime Minister, earning a good reputation depends on the cooperation of employees,” he said, asking officials to treat people seeking help as they would their own family members.
He said the new Collectorate should serve as a centre for addressing public grievances and ensuring justice for the poor.
Revanth also said the state government was resolving employees’ issues one by one.
He urged them to address their concerns while continuing to deliver services to the public and earn people’s trust.
