Odisha Govt clears 19 investment proposals worth Rs 3,280 crore, expects 10,661 jobs
Bhubaneswar, Sept 30(TNT): The Odisha government has approved 19 industrial investment proposals worth Rs 3,280.58 crore, with the potential to generate 10,661 jobs across multiple sectors.
The approvals were granted at the 150th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg held here on Tuesday.
The projects cover textiles and technical textiles, food processing, steel downstream, global capability centres, biofuels, chemicals, circular economy, plastics and tourism.
They will be spread across several districts, including Khordha, Cuttack, Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Koraput, Sundargarh and Angul.
In the textiles sector, Dollar Industries will invest Rs 125 crore in an integrated hosiery manufacturing unit in Khordha, generating 1,185 jobs.
Sai Workwear Private Limited will set up a technical textiles manufacturing unit in Puri with an investment of Rs 59 crore, creating 3,650 jobs.
In food processing, Geofast Industries (India) Limited will invest Rs 120 crore in a snacks and savouries manufacturing facility in Khordha, generating 350 jobs.
Jai Bhawani Foods Private Limited will establish a food and confectionery co-packaging unit in Cuttack with an investment of Rs 100 crore, creating 550 jobs.
Three steel downstream projects have been approved. SPS Arihant Steel Structures Private Limited will invest Rs 140 crore in manufacturing facilities in Debagarh, generating 595 jobs.
Steeledge Fabrication will set up a fabrication and machining unit in Sundargarh with an investment of Rs 108.82 crore, creating 375 jobs while Bhubaneswar Udyog Private Limited will invest Rs 101.99 crore in a steel products manufacturing facility in Cuttack, generating 130 jobs.
Tata Power will establish a global capability centre in Khordha with an investment of Rs 54.31 crore, creating 110 jobs.
In the biofuel sector, Indian Oil Corporation Limited will invest Rs 960 crore in compressed biogas facilities with a combined capacity of 39,600 tonnes per annum across eight districts, generating 760 jobs while Kineta Global Limited will establish an 8,250-tonne-per-annum compressed biogas facility in Ganjam with an investment of Rs 170 crore, creating 170 jobs.
Aquaproof Wallcare India Private Limited will invest Rs 62.64 crore in a construction chemicals manufacturing facility in Cuttack, generating 135 jobs, while Asipiya Chemicals and Solvent Private Limited will set up a petroleum and petrochemical solvent distillation unit in Jagatsinghpur with an investment of Rs 60 crore, creating 75 jobs.
Under the circular economy sector, Ramuka Global LLP will invest Rs 50.15 crore in an iron and steel slag processing facility in Angul, with an employment potential of 411.
Shri Dakshineshwari Maa Polyfabs Limited will establish a plastics manufacturing facility in Khordha with an investment of Rs 401.63 crore, generating 490 jobs.
The tourism sector accounts for five projects across Ganjam, Puri, Jharsuguda and Koraput.
BBB Hotel Private Limited will invest Rs 208.04 crore in a five-star hotel in Ganjam, generating 300 jobs.
Hotel Sea Pearl Orissa Private Limited will establish a five-star beach resort in Puri, in partnership with the Accor group, with an investment of Rs 180 crore and an employment potential of 630.
Highland Hotels & Resorts Private Limited will invest Rs 150 crore in a four-star resort in Jharsuguda, creating 250 jobs while Puri Eco-Tourism and Resorts Private Limited will establish a four-star resort in Puri with an investment of Rs 124 crore, generating 305 jobs and Odyssey Leisure Private Limited will invest Rs 105 crore in a four-star resort in Koraput, creating 190 jobs.
Chief Secretary Anu Garg said the approvals reflected the diversification of Odisha’s investment landscape, with the government focusing on employment generation, value addition, supply-chain development and balanced regional growth.
She said the state would continue to facilitate investments through coordinated clearances and its single-window mechanism to support projects from proposal to implementation.
The investments are aligned with the state’s vision of Samruddha Odisha 2036, which focuses on strengthening industrial ecosystems, creating employment and promoting sustainable economic growth.
