Tirupati: Hyderabad-based devotees donate gold-plated elephant, lion vahanams to Srinivasa Mangapuram temple
Tirupati, Sept 30 (TNT): Hyderabad-based devotees donated gold-plated elephant and lion vahanams worth around Rs. 40 lakh to the TTD-run Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Srinivasa Mangapuram near Tirupati on Wednesday.
The vahanams were donated by P.V. Lakshmi Reddy and P.V. Divya Priyanka.
Lakshmi Reddy donated the lion vahanam, while Divya Priyanka donated the elephant vahanam.
The donors handed over the vahanams to temple Special Grade Deputy Executive Officer Varalakshmi at the Vahana Mandapam.
The vahanams will be used during the temple’s annual Brahmotsavams.
Temple priests performed special pujas to the vahanams with turmeric, kumkum and flowers amid Vedic chants. The donors later had darshan of Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy and received prasadam.
Temple Assistant Executive Officer Gopinath, Superintendent Raj Kumar, priests and other temple staff members participated in the programme.
