Hyderabad’s Mehrunisha Begum Wins Silver Medal at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026
Hyderabad, Sept 28 (TNT): Hyderabad-based logistics professional Mehrunisha Begum has won a silver medal for India in Logistics and Freight Forwarding at the 48th WorldSkills Competition held in Shanghai, China, from September 22 to 27, 2026.
Mehrunisha competed against participants from nearly 70 countries and regions, demonstrating her skills in international logistics, freight forwarding, documentation, routing, commercial decision-making and customer handling.
She completed her BBA in Logistics from Begumpet Degree College in Hyderabad and is currently employed with Cargomen Logistics India Pvt Ltd, where she handles the Thermo Fisher Scientific account.
Her role has provided practical exposure to international logistics operations, customer coordination, documentation and freight management.
She underwent intensive training under Kamal Jain and his team in areas including international freight forwarding, air and ocean cargo, multimodal transport, freight calculations, Incoterms, customs procedures, dangerous goods and customer communication.
The Logistics Sector Skill Council (LSC) provided training and institutional support for her participation in the competition.
The 48th WorldSkills Competition brought together around 1,400 young professionals from nearly 70 countries and regions to compete across 64 skill categories spanning manufacturing, technology, services, transportation, construction and logistics.
India’s participation in WorldSkills is coordinated by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship as part of the country’s efforts to promote vocational training and industry-aligned skills.
