Jio Adds 2.12 Lakh Mobile Subscribers, Over 51,000 FWA Connections in AP Circle in August
Hyderabad, Sept 29 (TNT): Reliance Jio added 2.12 lakh wireless mobile subscribers in the Andhra Pradesh telecom circle, which includes Telangana, in August 2026, taking its total mobile subscriber base to approximately 3.29 crore, according to the latest data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
The company also added 25,211 wireline connections during the month, taking its total wireline subscriber base in the circle to around 21.55 lakh.
In the Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) segment, Jio added 11,058 connections in the 5G FWA category and 26,513 connections in the UBR FWA category during August.
Its subscriber base stood at approximately 7.97 lakh and 4.67 lakh, respectively, taking the combined FWA connections in the circle to over 12.64 lakh.
At the national level, Jio added approximately 3.7 times more net subscribers than its nearest competitor, Airtel, in terms of Home Location Register (HLR) additions during August, excluding Machine-to-Machine (M2M) connections, the company said.
Jio was also the only operator to record positive net additions in active Visitor Location Register (VLR) subscribers, adding 1.7 million active subscribers during the month.
Over the three months since May 2026, its VLR net additions were around four times those of Airtel, according to the data cited by the company.
In the national home broadband market, Jio added approximately 2.5 times more subscribers than its nearest competitor during August.
Its AirFiber service accounted for around four lakh FWA additions, compared with approximately one lakh additions by Airtel.
Jio continued to lead the national FWA market, with an estimated market share of 78.6 per cent, adding around four lakh connections during the month.
The latest subscriber figures reflect Jio’s expansion across mobile, wireline and wireless broadband services in the Andhra Pradesh telecom circle, alongside its reported growth in the national connectivity market.
