Billtrust Inaugurates Hyderabad GCC, Plans Rs 450-Crore Investment
Hyderabad, Sept 28 (TNT): US-based financial technology company Billtrust on Monday inaugurated its Global Capability Centre (GCC) at Madhapur in Hyderabad, committing to invest Rs 450 crore over the next three years and expand its workforce to 1,000 employees.
Telangana IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu inaugurated the facility at Raheja Mindspace, in the presence of Billtrust CEO Grant Halloran and members of the company’s global leadership team.
The 40,000-square-foot facility has a capacity to accommodate 250 employees and currently has a workforce of 100, achieved within six months of the commencement of operations.
The centre will focus on engineering, artificial intelligence (AI) development and operations to support Billtrust’s global business.
Speaking on the occasion, Sridhar Babu said Hyderabad had a strong pool of skilled technology professionals and assured the company of the Telangana government’s continued support for its expansion.
He encouraged Billtrust to leverage the state’s technology ecosystem, including T-Hub and the Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK), to access trained professionals equipped with skills in emerging technologies.
“Telangana will be a partner in your progress,” the Minister said, reiterating the government’s commitment to supporting the growth of global capability centres in the state.
Billtrust CEO Grant Halloran said Hyderabad’s technical talent, infrastructure and government support had contributed to the company’s decision to establish its India operations in the city.
He said the centre would play a key role in integrating AI into the company’s global platform.
Farhad H. Baria, Country Head of Billtrust’s India GCC, said the company had built a 100-member team within six months and would continue expanding its capabilities in Hyderabad.
Billtrust serves around 2,600 B2B suppliers and 14 million buyers worldwide, processing more than $1 trillion in trade credit volume annually.
Its Hyderabad centre will support the company’s global operations through technology development, AI and operational services.
The investment and proposed workforce expansion are expected to strengthen Hyderabad’s position as a destination for global capability centres and technology-led operations.
