TTD Chairman Lays Foundation Stone for Rs 5.73-Crore Works at Valmikipuram Temple
Valmikipuram (Annamayya Dist; Andhra Pradesh), Sept 28 (TNT): Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Chairman B.R. Naidu laid the foundation stone for development works worth Rs 5.73 crore at Sri Pattabhi Rama Swamy Temple here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Naidu said the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) was prioritising the renovation of ancient temples and construction of new temples to promote Sanatana Dharma at the grassroots level, in line with the directions of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
As part of the initiative to construct 5,000 temples, works had commenced at 1,200 temples, he said.
Funds for the development of the Valmikipuram temple were sanctioned following a request by Pileru MLA Nallari Kishore Kumar Reddy.
The proposed works include development of the temple pushkarini at a cost of Rs 1.12 crore, construction of a Kalyana Vedika mandapam for Rs 73 lakh, reconstruction of the southern Rajagopuram for Rs 52 lakh and construction of an entrance arch for Rs 30 lakh.
The works also include construction of the second floor of the Kalyana Mandapam at a cost of Rs 1.80 crore and renovation of the Paruveta Mandapam for Rs 1.26 crore.
Earlier, Naidu was accorded a Poornakumbha welcome by the priests. He offered prayers to Sri Pattabhi Rama Swamy, received Vedic blessings and later unveiled the foundation stone for the development works.
Pileru MLA Nallari Kishore Kumar Reddy, TTD JEO Dr A. Sarat, board members G. Bhanu Prakash Reddy, Shantaram, Panabaka Lakshmi and Naresh Kumar, ex-officio member Dollar Divakar Reddy, Chief Engineer Manoharam, Special Grade Deputy Executive Officer P. Varalakshmi, Executive Engineer Mallikarjuna Prasad, AEO Gopinath, officials, staff and priests attended the programme.
