BRS Leaders Detained During Protest, Seek ED Action Against Minister Ponguleti
Hyderabad, Sept 28 (TNT): Several BRS MLAs and MLCs were detained by police on Monday while staging a protest outside the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Hyderabad, demanding transparency in the agency’s investigation involving Telangana Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy.
The protest was held two years after ED searches linked to the case, with BRS leaders questioning the status of the investigation and seeking clarity on the action taken by the agency following the searches.
The BRS leaders questioned what they described as the ED’s silence on the matter and sought an explanation from the BJP-led Union government over the progress of the investigation involving the Congress minister.
BRS working President K T Rama Rao (KTR), in a post on X, questioned why central investigative agencies, which he alleged acted aggressively against opposition leaders, had not provided clarity on the case involving Srinivas Reddy.
“Exactly two years since the Congress-BJP unholy nexus became official in Telangana. Why is a Congress minister enjoying immunity from the BJP? Ajab Prem Ki Ghajab Kahani,” KTR posted.
The BRS leaders demanded transparency regarding the investigation and the action taken following the ED searches.
